Induction hardening gears machine :
Hardening is a process of heating followed by cooling generally fast for increase hardness and mechanical strength of steel. To this end, the steel is heated to a temperature slightly higher than the upper critical (between 850-900ºC) and then cooled more or less quickly (depending on the characteristics of steel) in a medium such as oil, air, water, water mixed with soluble polymers, etc. There are different methods for heating such as electric oven, gas cooker, salt, flame, induction, etc.The steels that are normally used in induction hardening contain from 0.3% to 0.7% carbon (hypoeutectic steels).
Induction Hardening machine advantages:
It treats a specific part of the piece (hardening profile)
Frequency Control and heating times
Cooling control
Energy saving
No physical contact
Control and located heat
Can be integrated in production lines
Increase performance and saves space
Induction hardening can be done in different ways:
1. Primary heating method
The primary heating method or simultaneous heating method is the most common way of induction hardening. When this method uses two rectangular tubes surrounding the surface of the workpiece for rotary heating, it has been customarily referred to as the Single Shot method.
The advantage of the single heating method is that the workpiece needs to be heated all the surface area at once, therefore, its simple operation, high productivity, it is suitable for heating the workpiece is not too large, the heating area of the workpiece is particularly large, using a heating method, the need for a considerable power supply power, investment costs are higher.
The most common examples of the primary heating method are small and medium modulus gears, CVJ bell housing rod section, inner raceways, carrier pulleys, support pulleys, steel plate spring pins, toggle yi, valve ends, valve rocker arm circular arcs and so on.
2. Scanning hardening method
When the workpiece heating area is large, power supply power is small, often using this method, at this time, the calculated heating area S is the area contained by the induction circle, therefore, the same power density, the required power supply power is smaller, equipment investment costs are low, suitable for small batch production, typical examples for large diameter piston rod, corrugated rollers, rollers, oil pipeline, oil pumping rod, rails, machine tool guides and so on.
